Through education, mentoring, poverty eradication, and talent development, we nurture young people to discover their potential and take their place in shaping a peaceful, equitable, and sustainable future for their communities.

Our desire is to remove the barriers that hold children back, opening doors to opportunity and inspiring a generation that will transform Karamoja from within.

Our DNA

  • The building, nurturing, and mentoring of future responsible adults and leaders through child educational support, confidence building and talent development programmes among the children in Karamoja.

  • The development of responsible, productive and talented young people who will actualize sustainable Development in Karamoja for a peaceful, improved and equitable quality standard of life.

  • To open up children to a world of possibilities to, personal and community Sustainable Development and to reduce or eliminate all forms of barriers that denies children opportunities to grow and explore their full potential to positively contribute to society.

Our history

Karamoja children’s Link is a local Ugandan Community Based Organization (CBO) founded in 2012 in Amudat district, Karamoja region, north- eastern Uganda. It was started by Amudat Christ Church Sunday School as a child-to-child support ministry. The overall objective was to meet the needs of children in the villages through sharing and provision of scholastic materials and uniforms. What began with the sharing of used clothing by school-going children with children who were dropping out of school due to lack of the basic school requirements has grown into a mission to uplift and empower vulnerable children and their families throughout the region.

In late 2013 this support ministry was transformed from a needs-based children’s club into a CBO which endeavors to employ a rights-based approach in meeting the needs of the children and be in position to address broader aspects in the lives of children and expand the intervention areas in a more sustainable manner.

Karamoja Children’s Link (KCL) is now registered as a Community Based, non-profit organization that will serve  orphans, most vulnerable children, children from broken families, children from disadvantaged families and children with disabilities all over Karamoja; to offer them a chance in life to live and realise their full potential in life. A dedicated non-governmental organization based in the Karamoja region of Uganda, KCL was founded by Becky Faith Nachuge.

KCL believes that when you nurture children you build a strong foundation for future responsible and productive adults for sustainable Development in the community. Nurturing, mentoring and empowering children will help them realize and live their full potential in life. We strongly believe in the Bible scripture that says: train a child in the way he should go, and when he grows up he will not depart from it.
